It depends on who the judge is in the hearing. Sometimes judges will look at the change and go 'you are ridiculous. no.' Other times they won't say anything and let you get through with it. The cost is paying the lawyer to go through the process and then all the notifications you have to leave people (passport, school, DMV, etc)
