I Haz been productive!

I wouldn't call myself lazy, but I will be honest I prefer to offer to help then to be asked (maybe thats weird.)

This morning I got up and did an epic kitchen/dinning room productive. After my housemate/best friends mum (who is like a mum to me) threw an epic dinner party last night and cleaned up all by herself I felt really bad. :(

So this morning I made the kitchen shiny again and put everything away, wiped up and packed away the table and washed dishes! Even did two loads of my own washing :D its only 9:52am yay! productive!

It's weird, cause when I lived at home with my mum and she asked me to help it would be the biggest choir of the world. But when I help my BF's mum I feel good about it. Strange... :P Almost feel like ringing my mum to tell her, I am sure she'll laugh and swear at me.

Had some iPhone home button woes during the week, (for those on my flist that have iPhone you will know how bloody vital the home button is! XD) and tried everything in my power to fix it. Its fixed now though, how I hear you asking? By smashing it against my desk. (I bloody kid you not.) So yes, don't call tech support or visit the Genius store, smack the thing on a desk and then see if it works XD

Also have finally written something ;) and have so far, from my two very lovely beta readers, have had positive feedback :D watch this space for the fic to come shortly.

Hope all have a nice weekend planned :) Let me know what you're up to!

Edit/Update: The productivty continues just made teriyaki chicken sushi! :D

Speaking as someone married to a Steve Jobs fanboy, as someone who enjoys the use of Apple products: I'd rather go anywhere in the world besides the Apple Store. They make you wait on purpose so you're forced to piddle with their newest and latest while surrounded by iZombies. It's. Horrid.

Don't get me wrong, in bad dreams my iPhone is replaced by something non-iPhone and I die a little inside. So maybe I'm an iZombie, too. But this whole "Apple is so cool customers wait on Apple" thing is seriously wrong.

That being said the guys in the back of our apple store worked on my son's out of warranty 2004 iMac for free. But those are the guys in the back. Not the "geniuses."

God I hate Apple marketing so hard.

Back in the day, before iPods, Apple was abot Macs. And Apple users, not iPod users, were the driving market. Okay, so it wasn't big enough and Apple nearly died. Details, details. But Mac users weren't passive enterainment consumers. They were totally geeking over blue and white towers with the sides you can open and everything. Mac users loved their macs and tweaked them out with extensions. They regularly sent software updates to Apple and often the best extensions were made into OS updates.

No more. Apple doesn't listen to Mac users. Mac users aren't te bread and butter. Apple is a phone and media company that dabbles in computers. They don't even use moterola processors anymore! Macs are pentiums! Ten years ago no Mac user in ther right mind would ever believe Jobs'd do that. But he did.

I could go on an on about my lovehate for Apple. TooLong;Didn'tRead: Great products, terrible company.

Yeah, i know where you are coming from. I've always been a late to trends sort of girl so I was ditching on macs and iphones long before i tried them.

Personally i heart windows 7. XP was epic too, what annoys me about mac OSX is that its really pretty at the cost of user friendliness. I am allowed to say this, because i own an iMac and for many years it was my pain computer apart from a shittish IBM laptop.

But to be honest my HP shits all over it (HP pav laptop) in terms of efficiently and user friendliness and price.

I used to hate iPhone's too used to think they were the most hyped up things... until i got one... for free (i wouldn't have paid for it.) and i took it to Japan as a "temporary phone." ... and i found a Saiyuki (with Hakkai) cover for it. And i downloaded lots of games...

Shit i love my iPhone. <3

That said, the boy, and i say boy not man because he was probably younger then me and im not old that served me at the genius bar was no genius.

When i told him the issue, and told him it was likely a software thing, he corrected me and said it sounded like hardware (cause the button didn't work.) At the time i didn't want to argue my friend and i had been waiting too long, but i kid you not i wanted to say.

1. you're a twat, if power cycling it fixes it temporarily it aint hardware.
2. I'm a person that builds PC's and Macs alike. I know a software issue when i see one.
3. Many iPhone user that has updated since 4.3 has experienced this problem, says so on your website.

I digress i'm just glad to have a new working one lol, it has a better battery <3 hehe and the screens all shiny but because the button hasn't been warn in sometimes i dont press it as hard, LOL.

Ugh. "Genius" bars are bullshit. Hands down. Whenever we have technical problems we go to MacSurfer (macsurfer.com) and sure enough it's a glitch thousands of others have had- like the home button. Thing is they will never admit an apple product is deffective. They will blame a user and then try to make you feel taken care of by just switching up the product. Nice solution but apple is just a company and every company makes products with some level of deffect. Just say they have a software glitch if they have a software glitch! My god, is an ultrasensitive home button really what they want to claim????

Macs have never been the kind of computer a user could soup up too much. But these days you can't even update RAM yourself. RAM. Srsly?!?? Oh, in the old days, back when it was OS 8.5, the souping up was done with software. We used to have all these third party OS extensions. Anymore? Hell. No. No way. Who are we to fiddle with unix? Take it to the genius bar and they'll tell you you're just using it wrong.

What's the old joke? That's not a bug, that's a feature.

One time my dad noticed his Internet connection got slower in the afternoon. I told him this was because more people were home and using their internets. This wasn't a good enough explanation. So he called the Apple store and they told him to pack up his 21" iMac and drive it twenty miles to their storefront. And guess what they did? They told him the same thing I did after making him wait for an hour "testing" his computer! Nevermind that he didn't call the cable company or have his modem looked at. Nevermind that they didn't rec this. They were only interested in looking awesome.

And the worst part? He called me just to let me know how awesome they were. Facepalm.

I hate the genius bar. Hate it. It's nonsense.

I once went into an Apple store and heard a "genius" declare there was a hard drive in an iPod Touch. Hard drive. In a Touch. Really.
